Big volume 2.6in tyres, 29in wheels and good support from the rear shock also meant the E-Six is a good climber off-road too. Heading the other way down the mountain was a treat too. The 150mm of travel is progressive enough to help when heaving the E-Six into the air, and hitting the man-made jumps and berms I felt very confident on the E-Six.

Switching to tubeless tires offers benefits like reduced puncture risk due to internal sealant, lower rolling resistance for a smoother ride, and enhanced traction from running lower pressures without pinch flats. The process involves using tubeless-ready components and following steps to remove existing tires, apply rim tape, and install valves and tires, then adding sealant and inflating. Tubeless conversion results in a lighter, more agile, and responsive ride.
Setting proper sag is vital for a Patrol Mountain bike’s performance. A shock pump, tape measure, and assistant are needed for measuring the suspension compression under the rider’s weight. Optimal sag should be between 25-30% for the rear shock and 15-20% for the front fork. Adjusting the air pressure fine-tunes the ride, with regular checks advised for maintaining the ideal setting.
