Explore the Pyrenees at their finest, where towering summits reach heights exceeding 3,000 meters. Join me on an exhilarating journey with the all-new Patrol E-Seven. Delve into a region brimming with authenticity, rich traditions, and awe-inspiring landscapes—the Gavarnie Valleys. Here, you’ll encounter challenging trails and picturesque valleys nestled beneath the majestic Gavarnie Cirque.
There’s no one who can serve you better than yourself! Following a personal visit to Eurobike, I’m now the proud pilot of the new Patro E-Seven! The latest evolution in EMTB from the renowned Indonesian brand.

Ascending for a smooth 45 minutes, thanks to the efficiency of the Shimano EP801, I predominantly relied upon the system’s ECO mode, set at 70%. I occasionally switched to the adaptive Trail mode for steeper terrain. Reaching the summit takes your breath away, and I’m all set to conquer the exhilarating descent. My goodness, this EBIKE is exceptional!

The descent is absolutely astonishing, ranging from steep to demanding, and the bike’s remarkable 170mm of suspension makes me completely overlook the ruggedness of the terrain.
After pausing at two-thirds of the way to admire the breathtaking view of Brèche de Rolland, I reached the charming village of Gèdre for a refreshing drink. The day has gotten off to an excellent start, covering 23 kilometres with a climb of over 550 meters.
Onto the next destination: Lac des Gloriette. I’m back in the saddle, embarking on a climb combining both asphalt and trail, leading me to the shores of a stunning lake in a valley suspended at over 2,000 meters. Along the way, I pass century-old sheepfolds, each more picturesque than the last.

The initial stretch of the trail is relatively easy-going, but the enjoyment it brings is boundless.
After a leisurely 30-minute ride along the gentle trails, the terrain takes a more challenging turn as I enter the woods. Here, the landscape varies in steepness, but my E-Seven handles it effortlessly, thanks to its remarkable 170mm front/rear suspension setup and 29-inch wheels. Even in these rugged sections with substantial boulders, the bike proves to be a formidable companion, effortlessly navigating through.
The experience is truly exceptional, and the vistas are nothing short of breathtaking. It’s essential to stay focused and not let the mesmerizing scenery distract you.

I find myself back in Gèdre once more after a segment on a 4X4 track, retracing my steps to the starting point.
In the end, I enjoyed two remarkable descents and conquered over 1200 meters of elevation in a 46-kilometre ride, and to my surprise, I still have two battery bars left. While I do wish I had utilized the assistance more, I can’t deny that pedalling with the Patrol E-Seven and the adaptability of the new Shimano EP801 was an absolute pleasure, even during the climbs.
As is customary for rides of this calibre in France, we wrapped things up at a charming boulangerie, indulging in a well-deserved pastry.
